This is yet another pattern that I first saw on the designer’s Instagram page and knew that I had to make! Marlowe loves ballet and this sweater evokes the feeling of a tutu while still being wearable for school and play. I knew she’d only get a few wears this season, so I made a size 6 to last through next fall and winter, too.
This is my second pattern from this designer and I am such a fan. Her patterns are beautiful and filled with thoughtful details like the i-cord around the neckline. They’re also so wearable for a long time. She really knows how to design for children.
This project went so fast that I was a little sad when it was done! I am so in love with the subtle variegation in the yarn and it was so round and squishy and lovely to knit with. Luckily, I will have a chance to revisit! Marlowe has requested a matching version for her most beloved baby doll and I am happy to oblige. She has also requested that I lengthen the sleeves as apparently my preference for not-quite-wrist-length is not genetic. I’m pleased I have enough yarn left to make them wrist length this year and reknit even longer if I’m lucky enough to get a 3rd year of wear out of it.
